Welcome
to the website of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American
Statistical Association. The Philadelphia Chapter
comprises statisticians from the Philadelphia-New Jersey-Delaware tri-state area.
We work in government, industry and academia. Our purpose is to serve
our members and any one else interested in the benefits of research and
applications in statistics.
Our
annual activities typically include meetings in the spring and fall
with lunch and an afternoon of guest speakers. We sponsor a one-day
Summer Short Course. And we have a Mid-Winter social event which
includes dinner and a speaker. Newsletters are published throughout the
year. Officers are elected in June and serve one-year terms.
We
support local science fairs and poster competitions, and provide
resources for local teachers of statistics. We are closely affiliated
with PASTA, the
Philadelphia Area Statistics Teachers Association.
We Need Good Statisticians...
ASAP welcomes and encourages volunteers! There are plenty of
opportunities to help with chapter activities, from assisting with
meeting registration to judging at local science fairs. If you have
some spare time and would like to serve your profession and ASAP,
please contact any of the officers.

ASAP 2008-2009 Election Results
Congratulations to our new officers, who will be serving a
one-year term beginning July 1: President Dennis Cosmatos,
Vice President Charlie Liss, Secretary David Radley,
and Treasurer Alex Hanlon.
